How Does the Bela Highland Handle Wet Weather?

Highly water-resistant. Not a substitute for a fully waterproof jacket.

Here's the honest version. The Reissa membrane is laminated inside the Cordura shell, not inserted as a removable liner. That means the outer shell doesn't absorb water, the jacket stays light in the rain, and drying time is short when you stop.

It handles light rain, drizzle, and spray without issue. What it won't do is protect you through a prolonged downpour or a full storm. If heavy rain is a certainty, a lightweight over-jacket or a fully laminated alternative is a better call.

Think of it as a highly capable all-weather jacket, not a fully waterproof one. For 90% of rides, it's more than enough.

Materials: How Is the Highland Built?

Every material in this jacket has a clear purpose.

600D Cordura Polyester (double PU-coated, WR-treated): The outer shell. 600D Cordura is one of the most abrasion-resistant fabrics available in textile motorcycle gear. The double polyurethane coating and water-repellent surface treatment mean light rain runs off rather than soaking through.

Reissa Waterproof and Breathable Membrane: Bonded to the inside of the shell. It stops water penetration while allowing vapour to escape outward. Without this layer, the jacket would just be windproof. With it, it's genuinely breathable in changing conditions.

Micro Mesh Lining: The face fabric you feel on a warmer day with the quilt removed. Lightweight and non-clingy. It keeps air moving against your base layer and prevents the jacket from feeling sealed shut.

Removable Laser-Dotted Thermal Quilt (75g fill): Soft, light, and properly warm for cold-weather riding. It attaches and removes cleanly without fuss. The 75g fill hits the right balance between warmth and packability.

Neoprene Collar: Soft-touch finish that seals the neck opening without rubbing. It's a small detail that matters on longer rides.

YKK Coil Zippers: Used at every closure point. Smooth, reliable, and durable enough to outlast the jacket in most cases.

Pockets and Storage

Adjustability and Fit
