Bela Transformer 3IN1 Touring Jacket

Built for riders who cover serious miles across changing conditions, the Bela Transformer handles cold mornings, wet mountain passes, and warm afternoon stretches without swapping gear. Its modular 3-layer system and CE EN 17092-4:2020 Class-A certification make it one of the most practical all-season jackets in touring. One jacket. Every season.

  • For touring riders: Modular protection that adapts across Europe's most demanding climates.

  • For adventure motorcyclists: Cordura-built durability with mesh ventilation for mixed terrain riding.

  • For all-season commuters: Certified armor, waterproof pockets, and reflective visibility panels.

Is the Bela Transformer the Right All-Season Touring Jacket?

If you ride through seasons rather than around them, this jacket is engineered for you. The 3-layer modular setup lets you run the full system in winter, drop the thermal liner in spring, and ride the mesh layer through summer heat.

BELA builds this jacket for riders who don't compromise on protection when the layers come off. The outer shell stays water-resistant and the armor stays exactly where it belongs throughout every configuration.

TL;DR: CE Class-A certified, 3-in-1 modular touring jacket with Cordura 600D/1680D shell, removable thermal liner, Norman Tech Level 2 armor, 9 pockets, YKK zippers, and 360° reflective panels. Available in Ice/Blue/Black.

Key Features at a Glance

  • CE EN 17092-4:2020 Class-A Certified with Norman Tech Level 2 shoulder and elbow armor plus an 8mm GP rubber back pad

  • 3-Layer Modular System — outer Cordura shell, water-resistant mesh liner, and a removable quilted thermal jacket

  • 9 Pockets including two waterproof waist pockets, handwarmer pockets, a transparent license cuff pocket, and a detachable waist bag

  • YKK Zippers Throughout for consistent, reliable operation across all layers

  • Rear Connection Zipper compatible with Bela Transformer trousers for a complete two-piece touring suit

  • Silver Reflective Panels on the front, back, and arms for 360° low-light visibility

What's Each Layer Actually Made From?

Every material in this jacket earns its place. Here's what's doing the work:

Cordura 600D Polyester (WR 2PU Coated) — The outer shell. Abrasion-resistant and water-resistant, it handles road spray and light rain without soaking through.

Cordura 1680D Polyester (PU2T Coated) — High-density reinforcement on the shoulders and elbows. These panels take the most punishment in a fall and are built specifically for it.

Dynamic Stretchable Nylon (2FL PD WR Laminated) — Sits at key structural flex zones. It keeps the jacket moving with your body rather than against it on longer rides.

Lycra Polyester Blend — Elastic panels across the arms and shoulders. Full arm movement, no restriction, no fatigue across long days.

Taffeta Polyester WR Coated Mesh — The middle liner layer. It manages moisture and airflow when you're running all three layers together in variable conditions.

Taslan Polyester Soft Micro Plain — Lines the outer shell and forms the thermal layer's exterior. Smooth against base layers and reduces friction over hours in the saddle.

Korean Polyester with ROI Padding (Box Stitch Quilted) — Insulates the removable thermal liner. Warm without bulk, and it pulls out cleanly when conditions improve.

Neoprene Polyester Laminated (2–2.25mm) — Collar construction. It seals comfortably around the neck without pressure points during long riding days.

Storage and Pocket Layout

Nine pockets cover every practical need a touring rider has:

  • Two waterproof waist pockets keep documents and electronics dry in rain

  • Two handwarmer pockets for comfort during cold-weather riding

  • A transparent left cuff pocket holds your driving license for quick access at checkpoints

  • A hydration pocket fits a water bottle for long days between fuel stops

  • A detachable waist bag for carrying extra gear when you're off the bike

  • Four internal waterproof pockets spread across the layers for layered storage

How Does the Bela Transformer Keep You Comfortable All Day?

The internal structure uses 3D breathable mesh and fleece polyester together. The mesh circulates air and the fleece holds warmth without building moisture against the skin.

Mesh outer shell panels on the chest and back support active airflow. Micro mesh on the cuffs and arms keeps circulation going at the extremities.

Adjustability and Fit

The Transformer gives you real control over how it fits:

Adjustment straps at the waist, biceps, and forearms let you tighten or open up the jacket based on your riding position and layering.

Width-adjusting YKK zippers at the cuffs and waist manage airflow precisely. Elastic polyester pipe construction at 0.75", 1", and 2.5" flex points keeps movement natural. A soft removable neoprene neck protector adds warmth without adding bulk.

FAQs

How does the 3-layer system work in practice?

Each layer removes independently. Start with all three in cold weather. Drop the thermal liner as temperatures rise. Run the outer shell and mesh liner in mild or unpredictable conditions. The armor stays in place across all setups.

Does this jacket work for adventure riding as well as road touring?

Yes. The Cordura 1680D reinforcement, CE Class-A certification, and modular layering suit both on-road touring and mixed-surface adventure riding across varied climates.

What protection level does the armor provide?

Norman Tech Level 2 armor covers shoulders and elbows. The GP rubber back pad is also Level 2 rated. All armor is certified to EN1621-1:2012 and is fully removable for washing or replacement.

Can this jacket connect to touring trousers?

Yes. A rear YKK zipper at the base of the jacket links directly to Bela Transformer trousers, creating a connected two-piece suit for full-body coverage on long tours.

Is the Bela Transformer worth it for commuters as well as tourers?

Absolutely. The waterproof pockets, reflective panels, and adjustable layering system make it practical for daily commuting in changeable weather, not just long-distance touring.
