A good helmet is one that properly protects you and remains comfortable for long use.
A perfect experience would include; no pressure on your head, a soft compression/hugging of your head with the helmet lining, a comfortable experience on the long rides, easy on and off, and protection from injuries, sunshine, debris, and elements.
How to check the right fit of a helmet?
When buying a helmet, focus on size and fit. If a helmet is ECE 22.06 and SHARP-certified, it probably is safe for riding in the UK.
Before you select a helmet, the first step is to measure your head. This is a step-by-step process of measuring your head.

Take a cloth tape.

Measure right above your eyebrows to the broadest part of your head in the back.

Note down this measurement, and compare it against the size chart of different helmets.
Remember, your head size and helmet size chart is only a point of reference. Your head shape also determines if a helmet will fit you nicely or not.
Different brands follow different head shapes for making helmets. For example, if your head shape is a long oval, a helmet made for a round oval head will be very uncomfortable for you.
Best Full-Face Motorcycle Helmets
Axxis Draken S
Axxis Draken S is an ECE 22.06 certified entry-level full helmet. The helmet is made with a thermoplastic shell with some minor finish imperfections, which can be tolerated because of its low price. Another price-cutting factor is the same shell size for sizes XS to 2XL.
Axxis Draken S offers average ventilation. There are two permanently open exhaust vents on the chin and top but the airflow from the top vent is limited. The visor seals well and a quick-release mechanism is lacking. There is also no built-in sun shield. Pinlock 70 anti-fog insert is also an optional extra.
The overall feel of the helmet is comfortable. However, if you wear glasses, that can be awkward.
If you want a protective helmet at a low price, Axxis Draken S is for you.
HJC C10
HJC C10 full-face motorcycle helmet is ECE 22.06 safety standard certified. This is a newer, more strict version of the ECE 22.05 safety standard. HJC is a helmet brand known for its value-for-money products. HJC C10 is made from an advanced polycarbonate composite. The helmet is available in sizes 3XS to 2XL with different shell sizes for better fit and proportion. However, the helmet is slightly heavier at 1,548 grams.
HJC C10 has good ventilation. The helmet features a wide, easy-to-operate chin vent and two adjustable top vents that provide good airflow. When comparing the current model, its ventilation is better than previous ones.
The helmet comes with a 10mm wider aperture for better peripheral vision. The visor operates smoothly. It has a 10-position ratchet and you can easily remove and refit it. The helmet doesn't come with a pinlock so fogging can be an issue in cold weather without the pinlock.
The chin skirt and cheek pads are removable on the C10 helmet. The lining is overall soft and comfortable for everyday use. The fasting is gloves-friendly with a micrometric ratchet fastener.
HJC C10 truly stands out for being quiet. It has no unusual noises and you will mostly ride without much disturbing noise. For the same reason, intercoms work really fine with C10.
LS2 Storm II
LS2 Storm II offers certified safety, excellent visor, and superb value for money. Storm II is a promising budget full-face motorcycle helmet. There are some minor comfort and ventilation issues, but those are bearable at this price point.
LS2 Storm II meets tougher ECE 22.06 safety standards. The previous standard, ECE 22.05, has less strict testing standards. The new standard tests helmets with more impact points, higher impact speeds, and multiple impact zones.
LS Storm II's shell is made with Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA), which is a combination of aramid fibres and polymer. This composition is mainly used in mid-range helmet shells. For LS2 Storm II, the shell is made in two sizes that cover XS to 3XL. Sizing may not be perfect for medium and large sizes. We suggest trying the helmet before buying it.
The ventilation is only average on LS2 Storm II. It has chin and top vents but the chin vent doesn't shut securely and may let in water in heavy rain.
The visor system works perfectly with an easy-to-open mechanism, can be set in any position, and can be removed for cleaning. The helmet includes a Pinlock 70 MaxVision anti-fog insert.
The helmet lining is fully removable, hypoallergenic, and soft. However, a seam in the forehead area can be uncomfortable, especially on long rides. Fastening is easy with a micrometric ratchet fastener with a flexible pull-tab. You can easily adjust and secure your helmet, even with gloves.
The helmet can be noisier around the sides. Intercom installation is easy as there are recesses in the EPS liner.
Overall, the helmet offers impressive build quality, a top-tier visor system, and good value for money.
Caberg Avalon
Caberg Avalon has excellent construction and is a feature-rich budget helmet. It has a comfortable helmet with a standout visor mechanism. Its drawbacks include an uncomfortable sun-shield and average ventilation.
Caberg Avalon is an ECE 22.06 certified helmet. The helmet offers dependable, modern protection. Its shell is available in two sizes so it suits most head shapes and sizes.
The outer shell is made with ABS plastic. The helmet has a subtle, sporty styling with a rear spoiler and aerodynamic hump.
Caberg Avalon has open/closed chin and top vents with always-open exhaust ports. However, ventilation is still average as the top vents have limited channeling in the liner. The visor system features a quick-release, anti-scratch visor. It has a secure lock and a simple 'just cracked open' setting. The helmet doesn't come with an anti-fog insert but can be purchased separately.
The helmet lining is fully removable and washable. It is hypoallergenic and soft against the skin. Some users have reported forehead pressure after long rides.

The LS2 Advant X is a premium flip-over modular helmet. It is available in composite fibre and carbon fibre versions. The helmet is available in two shell sizes that cover XS-3XL. It fits better for different head sizes. Users suggest that cheek tightness settles after a few hours of use. The helmet has just the right weight (1650 grams). It feels comfortable and proves to be aerodynamic when ridden open.
The chin guard flips fully to the back. It is easy to operate even with gloves and doesn't jam. The visor automatically opens when the chin bar is raised, but doesn't close itself when the chin bar is lowered.

Scorpion Exo Tech Evo Pro features a 180-degree flip-up chin bar with P/J homologation.
